Indigo (formerly Independent Living Centre WA) is a leading provider of Assistive technology (devices and equipment), home modifications, therapy, and professional education. THE ROLE

This role involves the completion of Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist assessments and interventions for aged care clients in their own homes. This role is based in the Metro Southeast area delivering CHSP funded services. This is a hybrid role working with clients, in the office and from home.

The duties will include:

  • Undertaking person-centred assessments that identify the customers' functional capacity, strengths and lifestyle goals and develop a holistic, individualised person-centred therapy plan in partnership with the customer and their carer
  • Provision of expert advice, assessment and prescription of AT, home modifications to CHSP eligible clients, wellness and reablement and funding and grant options available
  • Preparation of professional reports and funding applications as required
  • Assist with coordination of referrals, planning, delivery, and evaluation.

Occupational Therapists working at Indigo provide professional advice, services and support in Assistive Technology, Home Modification assessment and prescription, and Allied Health Therapy Services.

Physiotherapists provide professional advice, services and support in Assistive Technology, mobility assessments, home exercise programs and falls prevention programs. 

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a passionate, self-driven, and innovative Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.  Being flexible and organised with a high standard of communication, problem-solving and initiative are essential in the role, as are time management skills.

Sound clinical expertise, preferably within the Aged Care sector and experience working with assistive technology and home modification desirable.

The candidate will possess:

  • A passion for providing person centred supports.
  • A strong interest and desire to develop skills regarding AT assessment and prescription.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to up-skill in home modification assessment.
  • Advanced ICT skills (including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite applications).
  • The ability to work with individuals, care givers, health professionals and other staff within a consultative and collaborative environment to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and/or experience with Assistive Technologies
