KeepAble is the place to find practical content for all home care providers. Our team of sector professionals and subject matter experts is dedicated to creating and compiling resources that inspire older people to live independent, active, and healthy lives and encourage ageing well.
Independent Living Assessment (ILA) announces the launch of KeepAble, a new online wellness and reablement knowledge hub: www.keepable.com.au for home care providers, people working in the aged care sector, clients, and communities across Australia.
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), through Indigo Australasia Incorporated, ILA developed KeepAble as a sector support and development initiative.
KeepAble focuses on supporting and building capacity of home support service providers to embed wellness and reablement approaches into their service delivery and thus supporting clients back to optimal independence.
Although funding for KeepAble has been provided by the Australian Government, the material contained therein does not necessarily represent the views or policies of the Australian Government.
KeepAble provides an easy access to trusted wellness and reablement resources that are based on good practice and aims to drive attitudinal change toward ageing, and practice change in how home support services are delivered
nationally.
ILA’s Principal Advisor on Wellness and Reablement, Hilary O’Connell said: “The new resource hub has multi-tiered benefits for home care organisations, their staff, clients, and carers. We noticed there was a lot of information about wellness and reablement in different places and formats, which became time-consuming for community aged care providers to find.”
The team at ILA describe how: “After having input from the sector through surveys and focus groups to understand there were gaps, KeepAble was developed with the aim to bring together all the information and resources to one accessible place. It also provides an opportunity for the ILA team to work with home care providers and support them to develop and embed wellness and reablement initiatives.
“The positive outcomes can extend well beyond the older person, with increased staff retention and satisfaction, as the focus of their work changes. All of these things are possible through the delivery of effective Wellness and Reablement support.”
KeepAble will be an exhibitor at the ACSA National Online Summit from 17 to 21 May 2021.
