In March, Indigo was honoured to receive the Channel 7 Telethon Trust Grant funding for our project Giving WA Children a Voice.
Indigo Speech Pathologist Team Lead Ashley accepted this funding on behalf of Indigo at the Telethon breakfast Giving Ceremony on March 24, as well as the results of this funding later in the month - you can find more information in our article announcing the funding grant.
This grant has enabled Indigo to further support children with complex communication needs, providing them the opportunity to view more options in assistive technology, particularly Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
The 13 different devices purchased with grant funding include eye gaze, touch screens and key guards, and will allow our Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to demonstrate the latest communications technology to our clients. Learning about, testing, and selecting equipment from the available devices in Indigo’s showroom is a key factor in ensuring that device features align with a child’s individual needs.
Indigo’s primary mission is to not only provide a wide variety of options in assistive technology, but also to support clients and their families to have the choice, control, and agency in communication solutions, and these new grant-funded devices empower not only our clients, but also our allied health staff to be educated and provide quality support and assistance.
To find out more about our new communication devices, or to visit our showroom and try them yourself, please contact Indigo’s customer service team to book a consultation at help@indigosolutions.org.au.
