Term three will see Indigo’s Schools Team finish their current trial of site visits and telehealth catchups with the wonderful staff and students at the O'Connor Education Support Centre (OESC) in Kalgoorlie, as part of their Country Kids Communicate project.
Indigo’s Schools Team has completed three successful site visits to the school, as well as conducting regular telehealth catchups with staff.
School staff have received supported in-class demonstrations, training, coaching, consultation, and regular goal setting with our Schools Team to develop their skills in supporting students with complex needs to communication and participation.
Continuing with the generous support of Telethon, our Speech Pathologists will have return visits to the O’Connor Education Centre in weeks four and eight of term three, to continue to build on the work the staff and students have been putting in this year.
Trish, an OESC Teacher says, "The checkbacks have been helpful to not feel like we've been dropped with something to figure out on our own. When you're sitting in a PD (Professional Development) session, you're get inspired, and then you come to the next one and it is like, what happened to all those things we were inspired to do?"
