Indigo says #ThanksforCaring on Aged Care Employee Day
Indigo encourages Perth to acknowledge and thank the people who care for our older West Australians ahead of Aged Care Employee Day on Saturday 7 August 2021 (#ACED2021).
The national day recognised the 360,000 workers who care for and support around 1.3 million older Australians who receive aged care services.
“We are asking our community to take a moment and think about the quiet achievers and the superheroes who provide care and related services with #Integrity, #Passion and dedication to our loved ones.
“It has been a particularly challenging eighteen months for aged care workers with the pandemic adding extra pressures and modifications to how we deliver services.
“In the lead up to this Saturday 7 August, we ask members of the community to think about the occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, nurses, administration and all other supporting staff involved with providing aged care services and say: ‘Thanks for caring’.
“At Indigo we will be acknowledging our amazing people and saying thank you, especially to our direct care staff. We have recently introduced a Health and Wellbeing program to support our people in a variety of different ways that focus on a holistic approach to wellness and self-care, which is so important during these times of increased stressors.”
AECD 2021, will feature a social media campaign, focusing on videos, stories and photographs to acknowledge Australia’s dedicated aged care workers.
