Indigo is proud to be a principal supporter and exhibitor at the ATSA Independent Living Expo for 2023!
From 31 May to 1 June, ATSA is showcasing the newest assistive technology products and services, from mobility solutions and communication devices to aged care support and adaptive clothing.
The ATSA Independent Living Expo has been running for over 20 years and is a key educational event for allied health staff, seniors, people with disabilities, and carers.
Over 90 exhibitors will display the latest technology at Claremont Showgrounds, and participants at the expo will also get to attend a variety of seminars over the two days.
Indigo is very proud to announce that two of our team members will be presenting seminars at the expo.
Lauren Farrell, one of our Occupational Therapists, will guide participants through the world of accessible gaming, including demonstrating alternative access options for popular gaming platforms. This seminar is a great way to level up your knowledge of inclusive gameplay, and learn more about how gaming, and the online connections and communities that users can participate in, can benefit and be accessible for all users. Lauren will be presenting on Wednesday 31 May, at 1pm.
Indigo’s Clinical Excellence Manager, Linda Tran, will be presenting a seminar on the use and usability of personal alarms. Indigo partnered with Curtin University to research and gather information on the most effective methods for the prescription and use of personal alarms, and Linda will be discussing the findings of this research – how clients use personal alarms, perceive them and their advantages and disadvantages, and what are the implications of using personal alarms, as well as recommendations from allied health staff. Linda will be presenting on Thursday 1 June, at 9:15am.
In addition, Kristy Harper, Innovation and Growth Manager at our sister organisation iLA will be presenting on Wednesday; sharing the latest on iLA’s AT Chat program and peer-based AT Mentoring service.
We are very excited to be a part of this event, and we hope to see you there!
