Today we are celebrating Roslyn, who has been learning how to use the Gumtree app to sell unwanted items. She sent us her story of how the personal alarm we recently set up for her saved her from a difficult fall:

“My name is Roslyn and I was recently provided a personal alarm and iPad through Indigo. The Occupational Therapist [Hannah] helped me set up and test my personal alarm at home. Four days later I had a fall in my lounge room because of my vertigo. I could not get back up, so I pressed the button on my personal alarm and the lady who answered called me an ambulance. It worked brilliantly!

When I first met OT Hannah, my goal was to learn to use Gumtree so I could sell some of my belongings before downsizing my home. She has been helping me learn how to take photos and upload items to Gumtree.

I have already sold a display cabinet and pool table! Learning to use an iPad has increased my confidence and made me feel more independent.”
